  1. Q. What is download speed and upload speed?
    A. Download speed is the speed data from the Internet is transferred to your device (computer, tablet, phone, etc.) When you watch a video, listen to a song, get email, or search Google, you are using your download speed.  Upload speed refers to the speed data is transferred from your computer to the Internet. You use your upload speed when you post videos on YouTube, post pictures on social media, send emails, or save files to the cloud.

  2. Q. Is Interent and W-Fi the same thing?
    A.  Internet and Wi-Fi are totally different things. The Internet is the public network that allows you to access various websites, such as Google or Amazon. Wi-Fi, on the other hand, is the way your Internet signal is transmitted to you. Wi-Fi uses a router to let you connect to the Internet without having to use any wires.

  3. Q. What should I do if I can't connect to the Internet?

  4. Q. How will multiple users affect my Internet Speed?
    A. Each person or device using your Internet connection shares bandwidth. The more devices, the more your Internet speed is divided up, resulting in less bandwidth for each device. For best results, check how many users and devices are on your network and what they are doing. Activities that use the largest amount of bandwidth are streaming videos, online gaming, video chatting, and downloading large files. In addition, avoid running programs in the background that use up bandwidth. If you are not using a device, power it off or disconnect it from the Internet to free up bandwidth for other users

  5. Q. Can I purchase my own modem?
    A. Yes, you can use your own modem with most ImOn services. Any non-VoIP DOCIS 3.1 modem should work with ImOn's Network. Should you choose to purchase your own modem, you will need to contact ImOn Customer Care in order to activate it on our network. Keep in mind that we do not support or offer technical support for customer purchased modems should you have any issues with it.

  6. Q. How far can my router's Wi-Fi signal reach?
    A. Most Wi-Fi routers have a range of up to 300 feet indoors. However, for best results, your connected device should be within 150 feet of the router. While a Wi-Fi signal can penetrate most walls, the signal will degrade the more walls it must travel through. It is suggested that you place your Wi-Fi router in a high, central location in your home. You should avoid other electronics like microwaves, cordless phones, baby monitors, and wireless speakers as they can interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.
