General Cable TV

1. What channels are included in my cable TV service package?
The channels included in your TV channel lineup depend on the package you have with us. To view available channels for each package we offer, please visit the Channel Lineup page.

2. What sports packages are offered by ImOn?
The NFL Network is available for digital cable customers on channel 146 and HD channel 846. ImOn also offers Red Zone subscriptions, Tennis Channel, and Big Ten Network.

3. What is the difference between ImOn Digital Cable and high definition (HD)?
High definition television provides a higher picture resolution than regular digital cable for clearer and crisper images. Click here to learn more about high definition TV.

4. What should I do if my remote isn't working?
Make sure that the remote control is in CABLE mode by pushing the CBL button. Remove any obstructions between the remote control and the set-top box. Check the batteries in the remote, they may need to be replaced.

5. Are digital set-top boxes necessary?
No, not to receive ImOn Local and Local Plus analog cable TV. However, you will need a separate digital set-top box for each TV you'd like to receive digital services such as interactive guid, pay-per-view, premium movie channels, and DVR.

6. What is picture-in-picture?
Picture-in-picture (PIP)is a feature that allows you to watch one channel while another is displayed in a similar inset window. The PIP controls are located at the bottom of your ImOn remote. To learn about what the controls do, click here to learn more.


DVR FAQs

1. How many hours of programming can I record on my ImOn DVR?
The record time varies depending on the digital set-top box you have. You can record 60 to 80 hours of standard-definition programming and 10 to 20 hours of HD programming. To determine how much space you have remaining click the LIST button and select B for Preferences.

2. Can I watch one show on TV while recording another with my ImOn DVR service?
Yes, you simply set up one program to record then tune to the live show. If you want to watch something different and still record two shows, you can watch a previously recorded program with ImOn DVR.

4. How long can I keep my ImOn DVR recordings?
As long as you like, but space is limited by the size of your hard drive.

5. What is the difference between DVR and TiVo?
TiVo is a brand of DVR, like iPod is a brand of MP3 player. You can lease a DVR from ImOn for a small monthly fee. TiVo's are most commonly sold in retail stores and require a subscription (monthly, annually, or lifetime).

6. How far back and I rewind a program?
You can rewind your program as far back as you want and anytime you want. To do this, simply press the REWIND button. You can only rewind your program if you’ve been watching it since the start of the show. For example, you cannot go to a new channel and rewind a show to the start if you haven’t been watching it since the beginning.

7. Do parental controls work with ImOn DVR?
Yes, parental controls work with ImOn DVR. 


Slingshot Whole Home DVR FAQs

1. How many hours of programming can I store in my Slingshot Whole Home DVR?
The total number of recording hours will depend on the mix of SD (standard-definition) or HD (high-definition) programs you have recorded. On average you can store up to 60 hours of HD programming or up to 270 hours of SD programming. 

2. Can I view and record HD programming with my Slingshot Whole Home DVR?
Yes. Your Slingshot set-top box supports both SD and HD formats. 

3. What happens if my Slingshot Whole Home DVR set-top box temporarily loses power? 
All recordings saved prior to the power loss will be saved, as well as your future recording
schedules. Recordings that are set to record during the power loss will be missed. 

5. How long can I keep my recordings?
You can keep them as long as you want. Lock the program you do not want auto-deleted. You may need to erase some locked recordings to make room for others if storage capacity becomes an issue. The Lock feature can be found in the Settings menu under Default Recording Settings or when you set up a recording and specify the recording parameters.

6. Does my Slingshot Whole Home DVR automatically erase programs to make room for new ones?
Yes, your Slingshot Whole Home DVR will automatically erase programs when space is needed, unless you set your Recordings Default Settings to Save Until you erase. Your DVR will delete the oldest recordings first.

7. Where do I find the available storage capacity left on my Slingshot Whole Home DVR?
Press the Settings or Menu button on your ImOn remote control, navigate to the Recorded TV section and select My Recordings or Scheduled Recordings and press OK. The total percentage of storage space used will be indicated at the bottom of the screen with a percentage bar.

8. How many future recordings can I schedule? 
You can set as many future recordings as you want provided you have the necessary storage capacity.

9. Can I delete an entire folder or series of recordings at one time instead of deleting each episode of series individually?
Yes, to delete an entire series or folder of recordings at one time press the List button on your ImOn remote control, navigate to the folder you would like to delete, press the B button on your remote control and select the Delete Folder option.

10. How do I change the automatic start and stop times of my DVR recordings?
To change the start and stop time for your DVR recordings, refer to the Default Recording Settings section on page 12 of the Slingshot Reference Guide.

11. How many shows can I record at once?
You can record up to two shows at a time with ImOn DVR. 

12. Can I watch one show on TV while recording another with ImOn Slingshot Whole Home DVR?
Yes, you can watch one show while recording another with ImOn Slingshot Whole Home DVR.

13. Do parental controls work with ImOn Slingshot Whole Home DVR?
Yes, parental controls work with ImOn Slingshot Whole Home DVR. 


High Definition (HD)

1. What is High Definition Television?
High Definition Television is a type of digital television that uses extremely high-resolution imagery with enhanced audio (such as Dolby Digital) to provide a movie-theater like viewing experience. The number of horizontal lines (made of pixels) displayed on the TV screen determines the TV resolution:

  • High-definition TVs have 720 horizontal lines or more

  • Traditional analog televisions have 480 horizontal lines

 There is also a difference in the screen format (or aspect ratio):

  • High definition TVs display a wide screen format (or 16:9 aspect ratio)

  • Traditional TVs display a 4:3 aspect ratio

High-definition TVs can be purchased at local electronics stores and look similar to traditional analog televisions but provide a picture that is six times sharper than an analog TV set. 

2. What channels are available in HD?

3. If I get an ImOn HD set-top box, will all of my programs be displayed in HD quality?
No, only programming that is produced in HD and is delivered via an HD-specific channeld is shown in HD.

4. Does HDTV cost extra?

No, the programming is included with your cable package. 

5. My TV has a built in digital TV tuner. Do I still need and HD set-top box to receive HD programming?
No, you don't. However, you will have to scan the channels for HD programming. 


ImOn TV Everywhere FAQs

1. How much does it cost?
ImOn TV Everywhere is FREE to ImOn residential cable TV customers!

2. Who is eligible?
All ImOn cable customers are eligible to register for ImOn TV Everywhere for FREE! The channels you have access to depends on the level of ImOn cable service you subscribed to. If you have the channel available within your ImOn cable package you have access to it on ImOn TV Everywhere.

3. What devices can I use?
TV Everywhere is available on the following platforms – PC, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone. Some TV networks do not have their programs available on all devices. In order to access TV Everywhere on smartphones the app must first be downloaded. 

4. What shows can I watch?
Once you are registered, you can watch any TV Everywhere channel as long as you are a subscriber to that network.  For example, you must subscribe to the USA channel within your ImOn cable TV package to have access to the USA TV Everywhere channel.

6. What do I need to use TV Everywhere?
TV Everywhere is available on the following platforms – PC, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone. Some TV networks do not have their programs available on all devices. In order to access the TV programs on smartphones the app has to be downloaded first. You must be an ImOn cable TV subscriber in order to access ImOn TV Everywhere.

Parental Controls

1. What parental controls are offered?
The ability to block certain channels that you don't want your childen watching. 

2. What is a V-Chip?

  • V-Chips use the TV Ratings and content labels to block programming.

  • V-Chips also use the Movie Ratings to block unedited theatrical films that air on TV.

  • All televisions 13 inches or larger manufactured after 2000 are equipped with a V-Chip

Activating your V-Chip is easy. Check your TV's on-screen menu options or your owner's manual for instructions.

3. Is there a list of the blocked channels and blocked ratings I have selected in the blocking settings options?
You can find the list of blocked channels on the parental control panel.
